Applicants must meet certain criteria to qualify for the scholarship 

  • The applicants must be a senior high school student or must have attained a high school certificate
  •     Applicants must have the ambition of enlisting in a full-time bachelors program in the United States or Canada.
  •     Applicants must have the intention to apply for courses in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or another computer-related department.
  •  The applicant must be able to demonstrate a high level of motivation and enthusiasm for pursuing the study of computer science and other related courses to be able to participate in the regular CSSI program.

Applications are processed online, and they must include the following info:

  •          Updated resume in PDF format
  •         A high school transcript
  •          Scores on the SAT (if applicable)
  •          Applicants are tasked to answer a multi-choice question with not more than 200 words per response

International students including students from Africa are also eligible for the CSSI scholarship. One thing to note is that there are no age restrictions and no prior experience is required when applying.

Women Techmakers Google scholarships

Women techmakers the Google followership program, previously known as the Google Anita Borg Memorial scholarship program, supports aspiring and deserving students with financial assistance. This scholarship program was set up to honour Dr Anita Borgs legacy and her efforts to empower women's participation in computer and technology as a means of promoting gender equality in the computer science field,

The program's objective is to encourage more women's involvement in computer science and technology by establishing an online chain for scholar recipients to share their computer experiences. Their effort to share resources, support the global women community and collaborate with others will continue to make an impact on the future of aspiring young women.

In addition, while enrolled in the program, candidates will have the privilege of networking with fellow applicants and Google professionals.

The Eligibility and Requirement Criteria

Google Scholarships forNorth America

  Countries like the United States, Canada, and Mexico are part of North America and selected participants will receive a grant, a $10,000 award for students studying in the United State of America and a $5,000 grant for students studying in Canada, respectively.

 

Applicants for the scholarship program must be qualified students and must be able to demonstrate a high level of motivation and enthusiasm for pursuing the study of computer science and other related courses, applicants are encouraged to submit an application

 

To be considered, the applicants must possess the following

  • Applicant must have attained a high school cert or its equivalent.
  • Must have completed at last one year of college study at the time of application 
  • Must have gained admission or have the intention of enrolling on a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate program at a college or university in either the United States or Canada
  • Candidates will have the intention of pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other related fields.
  •  Participants must show strong leadership skills as well as exceptional academic records.

Google Scholarships for Africa, Europe and the Middle East

 Selected applicants from these continents will receive an award of 7,000 EUR

Applicants must be qualified and must demonstrate a high level of motivation and enthusiasm.

 

The applicants must be currently enrolled at the institution in a full-time bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program at an accredited college or university, and will pursue a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field by the time of application

Google Scholarships For Asia and the Pacific

Scholarship participants will be awarded stipends from the scholarship program, and these selected candidates are chosen from a pool of female applicants.

The applicants must meet certain criteria

  • must be a  females
  • must enroll in an accredited college or university 
  • pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering and other related fields
